The countdown is ON, we are just 4 days away from our 5th annual Silent Disco Under the Stars at SWELL Sculpture Festival!

500 legends, 3 DJs, one epic beach party… it’s going to be pure magic.

We’ll be popping into your inbox another couple of times between now Saturday with tips and important info to make everything smooth, seamless, and fun.

✨ Today’s Tip: Paperless Entry Made Easy

@ViewTickets here, screenshot and save them to your pics for quick access on the night to be scanned and we can check you in quickly! Check-in opens at 6:30pm (a little earlier if we can swing it), so please hang back until we are ready to start scanning everyone in.

Here’s how it flows:

1️⃣ At the beach entrance you will find our crew ready to scan your ticket. Once tickets are scanned, you will receive a chip with how many headphones you are to receive. 

Important: do not lose this as you will not receive headphones without it and we are unable to issue new chips.

2️⃣ You will then be directed by one of our chaperones to the headset crew to get your headphones.  The number on the chip equals the number of headphones you will receive.

Silent Disco Aficionados: head to the first table to get your headphones, then keep on moving toward that sandy d-floor 💃🏼🕺🏾

First-timers: who haven’t used our headphones before – head to the last table where we’ll have a couple of crew ready to give you a quick rundown on how they work. 

**We do ask that everyone please take a moment to watch this very short video on how to use them as getting familiar prior will help ease the congestion on the night as we have so many people.

3️⃣ Headset on, pick a channel and from there your sandy dancefloor awaits for you to enjoy some dancing fun under the stars. 💫

Special Notes:

• If you have booked tickets for friends who will be arriving separately to you, please ensure you share their tickets with them so they can be issued a chip to get their headphones. We are unable to issue headphones to ‘hold onto’ until people arrive.

• Please note that from 6:30pm we will have chill/warm up music playing on the channels only, until our official start of 7:00pm.

Hey Silent Disco’ers! 🖤🎧

We’re getting VERY excited about tonight’s upcoming Silent Disco Under the Stars!

Our 2026 Silent Disco Under the Stars is set to be absolutely epic! 💫

There are a few things to cover in this email, so please grab a cuppa, get comfy and settle in for 5 minutes to read through it all.

We’re introducing our DJs, there’s an important update regarding the sculptures, plus all of the important information you need to know, including that pesky little thing called the weather. 🌧️

There’s only a handful of tickets left, so if your friends haven’t booked yet, tell them to hurry to ensure they secure a headset for this ultimate silent disco experience.

📲 ENTRY

QR CODE → CHECK-IN → NUMBERED TOKEN → HEADSET → DANCE FLOOR

1. Check-in opens at 6:30pm. If you arrive earlier, please hang back and check out the sculptures until we are ready.
2. On arrival, head straight to the Lights Out And Dance flags, where you’ll find our team ready to check you in. You’ll receive a token with a number on it.
3. Have your QR code ready for scanning. The event is paperless, so there’s no need to print your tickets. We’ll have a list if you can’t find them. 
4. Once you have your token, you’ll be directed to the headphone team, who will issue you with the number of headphones shown on your token. Please do not head directly to the tables of headphones.
5. Once you’ve received your headphones, you’re ready to hit the dance floor!
6. Please note that event music will begin at 7pm, so it might be a little chill/loungy until then.

🎧 HEADSETS

To help move everyone through and get the event underway on time, please ensure you check out the instructional video now and get familiar with how to use the headsets before the event.

This will help us get everyone checked in and dancing even faster!

These headsets are delicate, so please adhere to the following:

• Like you, headsets are also not allowed in the water.
• Don’t place them on the sand and ensure kids aren’t throwing them or sand at each other
• Return them at the end of the event. They won’t work without our DJ’s transmitters!
• Keep headsets within the dance space. If you need to leave for the toilet, hand them to our team and they’ll hold them for you.

Our headphones will not work without the music transmitter. They will never Bluetooth to a phone or be usable anywhere else, so please make sure they are returned to us.

🙀 FACE PAINT, GLITTER & MAKEUP

Face paint, glitter and heavy makeup can damage our headphones.

Glitter & face paint are a no-go. Anyone with face paint or glitter won’t be issued a headset, as per the T&Cs.

🎧 MEET YOUR DJS

🔵 DJ RYAN | BLUE CHANNEL

From his first official DJ gig at just 17 for the local Apex Club, DJ Ryan Khay has never been too far from his lifelong love of music and playing to a crowd.

Starting out with Weddings, Parties and Anything as a mobile DJ, followed by a long stint working for Nightlife Music and DJing at almost every party bar in Brisbane, Ryan has a love of all music and a pretty solid understanding of what gets a crowd pumping!

He was also the resident DJ at the popular under-18s nightclub Breakers in the Redlands, where he developed an early love for New Jack Swing and urban music.

But his big break came when he became part of the phenomenon that changed Brisbane’s music scene in the late ’90s: WILD FM.

And this is where he found his true love… house music! 🕺

Ryan has also had an extensive career in commercial radio, both on and off air, giving him a huge knowledge of popular music across the decades.

He’s excited to bring all of that experience to the beach and serve up a little bit of everything while you get the sand between your toes under the stars at SWELL Festival!

🟢 DJ CLAIRE | GREEN CHANNEL

DJ Claire G is a music mentor, DJ and event producer based on Australia’s east coast.

As the founder of Gold Coast Female DJs and Kinetic Productions, she is passionate about creating memorable events while supporting and developing female talent in the music industry.

Beginning her career in Melbourne’s underground rave scene, Claire developed a love for electronic music and the iconic sounds of the early 2000s.

Today, she brings that passion to every performance, delivering energetic sets that connect generations through music and keep dance floors moving.

Alongside her DJ career, Claire mentors emerging DJs through training, workshops and private lessons, helping to inspire the next generation of talent.

And last but certainly not least, DJ Bailey from Best Silent Disco is bringing the 🔴 RED channel to life!

 🎭 THE SCULPTURES

I’ve done two recces of the site and… WOW.

We have some absolute stunners that we’ll be dancing alongside this year! ✨

Please make sure you respect the sculptures and do not touch, climb on or otherwise cause damage to any artwork.

Below is a photo of one of the installations by artist Clayton Blake.

As you can see, there is a hole within the installation that members of the public are permitted to enter. Please be aware that this area can be slippery due to the sand, so anyone entering it needs to take extra care.

Our preference is that attendees do not enter this area during the event. If you do choose to enter, you do so at your own risk, and children must be supervised by their parent or guardian at all times while at the sculptures.

🚨 IMPORTANT: THE STAIRS

This installation also has stairs.

The stairs are STRICTLY PROHIBITED from climbing.

Security will be monitoring this area throughout the event, so please follow their instructions.

🧊 CUBE LIGHTING

We have cube lighting marking out our dance floor and helping to map out our dance area on the beach.

Please do not move them, sit or stand on them, dance on them, place bags on them or allow children to sit, stand or dance on them.

We have hired these for the event, so please respect our supplier’s property.

🚫 RULES

🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 PEEPS:
This is a family-friendly event for everyone, from groovy groms to groovy grans & pops.

So be respectful, joyful, kind and courteous. If you see someone who needs a hand, being helpful is always great too!

Unruly behaviour will not be tolerated, and our security will remove anyone who negatively impacts this event immediately.

🚫 SAFETY:
This event is strictly drug, alcohol and dickhead-free. Let’s keep it safe and fun for everyone.

🛑 WATER:
Whilst water lapping over your feet is OK, no-one is permitted to go into the water at any point.

Surf lifesavers do not patrol beaches after hours, and our team, including security, are not permitted to enter the water to attempt any rescue of anyone breaching this rule.

🦺 CREW:
Our crew can be identified by their pink high-vis, with our medic in yellow high-vis.

They are volunteers for this event, so please be patient, kind and respectful to them at all times.

Bonus points for high fives 🖐 and anyone who tells them how wonderful they are, because they really are!

🚽 TOILETS:
If nature calls, the toilets are directly across the road. Refer to the map.

🧑‍🧒‍🧒 CHILDREN:
They’re your responsibility.

Please supervise them. Don’t drop them off and head somewhere else. And definitely don’t leave without them! 🤣

Make sure your groovy groms treat the headsets gently. No hitting each other with them or throwing them into the sand.

Parking is very limited, so give yourself sufficient time to arrive and check in.

💦 WHAT TO BRING:
Water! You’ll be dancing up a sweat for two solid hours.

Also bring good vibes, a picnic rug or a camp chair. Keep chairs to the edge of the dance space, please.

👕 WHAT TO WEAR:
Comfortable clothing is a must!

Expect sand in your shoes. It’s a bit chilly, so layer up to keep warm.

👛 PERSONAL BELONGINGS:
There’s no bag storage, so leave bags in your car and only bring a water bottle into the event space.

No glass.

With SWELL’s breathtaking sculptures on one side and the ocean on the other, you’ll be dancing in a masterpiece of art and nature.

🐘 NOW TO ADDRESS THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM 🤣

The dreaded R word (we dare not speak its name). 🌧️

Obviously, ☔️ is our arch nemesis and the biggest cause of stress for any event manager running outdoor events.

It creates a significant headache and, frankly, a whole lot of stress!

Like anyone who runs outdoor events, I am currently checking the weather approximately every 5 seconds. 😂

As of right now, the forecast is showing rain in the morning, with a slight chance in the evening.

Weather forecasts can be wrong, weather patterns change, and from our experience at this location over the last couple of years, we’ve had the same sort of forecast and been lucky enough to be OK.

While I’m feeling confident that Mother Nature is going to come through for us again 🙏🏻 and we’ll be dancing under a blanket of stars, we will continue to monitor conditions closely.

🌧️ IF IT RAINS, WE CANNOT PROCEED & WE WILL POSTPONE TO NEXT SATURDAY.

Unfortunately, the silent disco headphones we hire, along with our DJs’ equipment, simply cannot be exposed to rain.

So, if conditions aren’t suitable, we simply cannot go ahead and the event will be rescheduled to next week.

We know this will be disappointing, but nobody would be more gutted than us!

📱 HOW WE’LL LET YOU KNOW:

If we need to cancel or postpone tonight’s event, we will advise you by no later than 6pm (sooner if possible) via email and SMS, and we’ll also post an update across our Facebook and Instagram pages. Please keep an eye on these channels for any updates.
