Dancing on the lands of the Yugambeh peoples, we recognise and respect their continuing connections to the lands and waters, and in doing so commit to extending that respect to caring for country during our event.
This isn’t just any beach party; it’s the Gold Coast’s favourite beach dance party, which is a family-friendly drug, alcohol and dickhead-free event.

With three sell out events to date, and 2024 seeing 400 people join us on our sandy dance floor on the shores of Currumbin Beach, this event isn’t just about music. At the heart of it is community, connection and a good dose of joy all wrapped up in two unforgettable hours of dancing under the stars on the stunning Currumbin Beach – where the waves meet the beats.
We’ll bring the fun. You bring your best dance moves! ✨🌟
BEHAVIOUR
We have a strict No Dickheads policy; and we mean it.
This is a zero-strike zone. Any behaviour that negatively impacts the vibe or safety of others will see you swiftly removed by our security team. No exceptions.
We’re incredibly lucky to host this beach dance party on the Gold Coast, and we’re not risking future events because someone couldn’t behave.
This is a family-friendly celebration for all generations — from our groovy groms to our groovy grans and pops. Please be kind, respectful, joyful, and aware of those around you. And if you see someone who needs a hand? Lend it. Let’s dance and not be a dick.
EMERGENCY
If there’s an emergency, music on the green and blue channels will stop. Switch to the RED channel immediately for instructions.
WATER
While allowing the water to lap over your feet at the waters edge is ok, attendees are NOT permitted to enter the water at any point during the event.
Surf lifesavers do not patrol beaches after hours and our security guards are not permitted to enter the water to attempt any rescue of anyone breaching this rule.
SCULPTURES
We are privileged to host this unique event and be part of the SWELL Sculpture Festival, dancing amongst artworks by the artists’ incredible works on display. To ensure these artworks remain respected and protected, we ask ALL attendees to adhere to the following guidelines:
- No climbing on the installations.
- Do not place bags or belongings against or on any of the artworks.
- Refrain from sitting on or touching the sculptures, unless they are specifically designated as interactive.
Thank you for helping us preserve the beauty and integrity of these artistic creations.
STRICTLY ALCOHOL & DRUG FREE
This event is a strictly drug, alcohol and dickhead free event, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all ages.
CHECK-IN
Arrive by 6:30 PM to have your tickets scanned and headsets issued. We’ll be ready to party at 7:00 PM.
PAPERLESS EVENT
Don’t worry about printing tickets, just have the QR code in your email saved to your photos and we can scan on arrival. We will also have a guest list of all bookings.
YOUR HEADSETS
Check out our instructional video on how to use the headsets. We encourage everyone to get familiar with headsets prior to the event to not hold up the check in process.
Participants are responsible for looking after the headset/s issued to them. Any damaged headsets must be replaced at the participant’s cost.
Headsets must not be taken away from the event, taken into the water, or placed on the sand. We ask parents to ensure any children at the event do not allow headsets to be thrown around, have sand thrown at them or have them anywhere near the sand.
DANCE AREA
We will have our dance marked out with cube lights. Please ensure that you stay within this area and do not take our headsets away from the event, or into the water.
We ask everyone to ensure our lighting is left in place and not moved.
CHILDREN
The event crew are just that, event crew. As per booking terms and conditions, all children must be accompanied by an adult ticketholder. Do not drop children off and leave them unattended. Our event crew take no responsibility for the well-being of unattended children at our events. In the event of unattended minors left unsupervised the police will be called.
GLITTER AND FACE PAINT – SORRY, IT’S A NO GO!
Face paint and glitter is unfortunately not allowed, sorry – it plays absolute havoc with our headsets.
Anyone with face paint and/or glitter in their hair will NOT receive their headsets.
CLOTHING
Expect sand between your toes, or in your shoes! Wear comfy clothing as our DJ’s are going to get you dancing up a hot and sweaty storm! and bring a jacket for when things cool down.
LOCATION
You’ll find us along the beachfront, across the road from Wallace Nicoll Park. Please head straight to the beach side, where we will have a trestle table set up with headsets. (Image below) Click here for directions via google map.
TOILETS
Toilets are located directly across the road in the park and in the SWELL Festival area of Wallace Nicoll Park. Please leave your headset with event crew and you will be given these on your return! Don’t forget to watch out for vehicle traffic when crossing the road 🚘 🚌
PARKING
SWELL Sculpture Festival is a highly popular event and parking is limited; consider using public transport. Options include Currumbin Alley, Palm Beach Parklands, and nearby streets.
We do not offer discounts or refunds to anyone who is late, or misses the event due to parking limitations.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT

MUSIC
Experience an epic DJ battle between our three live DJ’s all competing for your listening. Each DJ coming to you on either red, green or blue channel. Switch between them and find your perfect beat. You’ll know your music tribe by who’s on the same colour vibe! It’s a DJ battle and you decide the winner.
WHAT TO BRING / PERSONAL BELONGINGS
Water – you’ll be dancing up a sweat for two solid hours!
Also, good vibes, a picnic rug, or a camp chair. Keep chairs to the edge of the dance space, please.
We do not offer storage for personal belongings, so you will be responsible for your belongings.
Reminder – do not place or lean belongings against any artwork installations!
PHOTOS
We will have a photographer and videographer capturing the magic of the event, if you see them make sure you bust out the best and most animated epic daggy dance moves you can do!

WHAT TO BRING / PERSONAL BELONGINGS
Water is a must. We plan on keeping you dancing non-stop for a solid 2 hours, so please stay hydrated. Please note our dancing space is a strictly NO GLASS into the dance space. Any glass bottles spotted will be removed by event staff.
We do not offer storage for personal belongings, so you will be responsible for your belongings.

FIRE-TWIRLING
Fire-twirling is not permitted within the event dance space.☄️ 🔥
