SHOULD WE GATHER FOR A POST-WUTHER CELEBRATION?

A few of you have asked whether there’s an official after-party this year… and if you joined us for the first-ever event and its “exclusive” after-party — you already know it was literally the worst and most hilariously underwhelming “exclusive” event of all time. (And that’s being generous.)

The truth is, I pour absolutely everything into making the main event magical for you glorious Kates, so planning a proper after-party is a bit beyond me right now. BUT… the good news is that there’s space for us across the road from HOTA at the Gold Coast Tavern (walking distance!).

Personally, if someone asked whether I was keen for a cheeky post-Wuther bubbles with you all, the photo below pretty much sums up my response. 🥂😆

We’re officially one week out from The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever – Gold Coast, and it’s time to answer some of your most frequently asked questions!

📱 Do I need to print my ticket? What if I can’t find it on the morning?

Nope! No need to print your ticket — and don’t stress if you can’t find it. Our fabulous check-in crew uses our ticketing app with everyone’s name on it, so you’re covered.

🔥 Hot tip: Find your booking confirmation now (the one with the QR code at the top), screenshot the QR code, and save it to your Favourites. It’ll make your check-in quick and seamless, and more importantly, help things run quickly and smoothly for the team to check-in hundreds of other Kates too! @ViewTickets

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦  Can I bring friends or family to watch?
Absolutely! The more spectators, the better. As our Wuthering takes place while the HOTA Sunday Markets are on, we love when people stop and watch – in fact, that’s how many of our current Kates discovered the event!

So yes, invite your crew to come and cheer you on in all your twirling glory. Better yet, try to recruit them! Just remember: anyone stepping onto the green to join the dance needs a ticket. And our eagle-eyed volunteers will be on it faster than Cathy asking Heathclif to let her in the window because she’s sooooo cold!”

👕 Where do I collect my merch?
Thanks to everyone who pre-ordered merch! You’ll be able to collect your goodies from the Wuther Tent after you check in. Just swing by and we’ll have your items ready and waiting with your name on them. Easy peasy!

Now’s the time to pull your outfit together! If you haven’t yet, here are a few ideas to get you started:

Op shops first – always!

• Try Facebook Marketplace

• Or, if needed, check out some of the cheap (but admittedly fast fashion) online options — they’ve got some good red dress picks if you’re stuck

Let’s talk FOMO.

I’ve had it. Twice.

Once, every time I saw The Cassettes — the ridiculously cute, joyful 80s dance crew from the Byron Shire. I’ve been fangirling (okay, obsessing) over them for more than a decade. 💕🕺

The other time? Watching a friend take part in The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever in Melbourne nearly ten years ago… which planted the seed for this very event on the Gold Coast. And here we are, all these years (and twirls) later. ❤️

So, imagine my delight when I found out The Cassettes were making their way north to join our wuther this year! I was not letting this opportunity slip by to have them join us live on stage!

Led by the fabulously talented Marissa Treichel, The Cassettes 80s Dance Crew will be performing a special half-time rendition of “Running Up That Hill” — and I truly can’t wait for you to see them. Their energy is infectious, their moves iconic, and their presence is pure, sparkly joy. 💫

🤟 Welcome to All: Auslan Interpreted Again in 2025

One of the things I’m most proud of is making sure our Wuther is inclusive and welcoming for all — and that includes our deaf and hard of hearing community.

This year, for the third time, the beautiful Julieta from Anytime Auslan will join our Wuther Mother Nadia on stage to interpret the entire event in Auslan. Whether you’re signing, singing, or swinging your arms like Heathcliff himself — everyone belongs in this red sea of movement and magic. 👋🏻❤️

If you know someone in the deaf community, please do invite them along — we’d love to see them on the moors!
