Lights Out And Dance is bloody excited to be bringing Silent Disco Under the Stars back to the SWELL Sculpture Festival for our fifth year!

For two glorious hours, we’ll turn a stretch of Currumbin Beach into one giant sandy dance floor, surrounded by incredible sculptures, with the ocean beside us, the stars above us and three DJs battling it out through your headphones.
You choose the channel. You choose the music you dance too. You choose how you dance.
And nobody is judging.
Well… we have a strict No Dickhead Policy, so there is that. 😂
Dancing on the lands of the Yugambeh peoples, we recognise and respect their continuing connections to the lands and waters, and commit to caring for Country and treating this beautiful place with the respect it deserves.
This isn’t your average beach party.
It’s family-friendly, drug-free, alcohol-free and gloriously dickhead-free.
It’s about music, movement, community, connection and that ridiculously good feeling you get when you stop everything your doing and just let yourself get lost in music and dancing.
And we’re not the only ones who think it’s a bloody good idea.
With four sell-out events to date, including our 2025 event where 400+ people joined us on the sandy dance floor, Silent Disco Under the Stars has become a very special part of our SWELL story.
We’re incredibly grateful to our pals at SWELL Sculpture Festival and the City of Gold Coast’s Active & Healthy team for helping us bring this slightly bonkers, wonderfully joyful experience to the Gold Coast community.
Because this isn’t just about music. It’s about community. Connection. Me-time. And a whole lot of joyful fun for the whole family. All wrapped up in two unforgettable hours of dancing under the stars, on one of the Gold Coast’s most beautiful beaches.

We’ll bring the fun.
You bring your best (and daggiest) dance moves. ✨🌟
Three DJs. Three channels. You decide what you’re dancing to.
Each DJ will be on their own channel:
🔴 RED
🟢 GREEN
🔵 BLUE
Switch between them whenever you like and find your perfect beat.
You might discover that your music tribe is everyone wearing the same colour.
It’s a DJ battle, and you decide the winner.
Check-in opens at 6:30PM to have your ticket scanned and headset issued.
If you arrive early, hang tight until we’re ready to get you moving!
We’ll be ready to party at 7:00PM.
Please allow plenty of time to park, walk to the event area and check in.
No need to print your ticket.
Just have the QR code from your confirmation email saved to your phone and we’ll scan it when you arrive.
We’ll also have a guest list of all bookings.
Sorry, it’s a no-go!
Glitter and face paint play absolute havoc with our headsets.
Anyone wearing glitter or face paint will NOT be issued a headset.
Please check out our instructional video before the event so you’re familiar with how the headsets work. This will help us keep check-in moving on the night.
Please remember:
- Headsets must stay within the event area.
- Do not take them into the water.
- Do not place them on the sand.
- Participants are responsible for looking after their headset.
- Damaged or lost headsets must be replaced at the participant’s cost.
Please make sure children don’t throw, drop or play with the headsets, or allow sand anywhere near them.
We use cube lights to mark out our sandy dance floor area and provide ambient lighting.
Participants (including children) must not stand, sit, dance on, move, lean on or place bags or other belongings on the glow light cubes.
We ask everyone to follow any instructions from the event crew or security personnel regarding the placement and use of these lights.
**WATER IS A MUST**
You’ll be dancing for two solid hours, so please stay hydrated. Please note our dancing space is a strictly NO GLASS into the dance space. Any glass bottles spotted will be removed by event staff.
You can also bring:
- A picnic rug
- A camp chair
- A jacket
- Your best daggy dance moves
Chairs must be kept on the ouside edge of the dance area.
We do not provide storage for personal belongings, so you are responsible for your belongings.
And remember:
Do not place or lean belongings against any artwork installations, or on our cube lights
We’re incredibly lucky to be dancing amongst the amazing artworks of SWELL Sculpture Festival, so please help us look after them.
Please:
- Don’t climb on the installations.
- Don’t sit on or touch the sculptures unless they are specifically designated as interactive.
- Don’t place bags, chairs or belongings against or on any artworks.

We have a strict No Dickheads policy, and we mean it.
This is a family-friendly, drug and alcohol-free event. Please be kind, respectful, joyful and aware of the people around you.
Any behaviour that negatively impacts the vibe or safety of others will see you swiftly removed by our security team. No exceptions.
We’re incredibly lucky to be able to host this beach dance party on the Gold Coast, and we’re not risking future events because someone couldn’t behave.
This is a celebration for all generations, from our groovy groms to our groovy grans and pops.

This is a strictly drug, alcohol and dickhead-free event, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. No exceptions.
If any of our crew reasonably suspects that you are intoxicated and/or under the influence of illicit drugs, you will be refused entry to the session, and/or removed by our security team.
If there’s an emergency, music on the Green and Blue channels will stop.
Switch to the RED channel immediately for instructions.
Please follow the instructions of our event team.
Fire-twirling is not permitted within the event dance space. ☄️🔥
Yes, we’re on the beach.
No, you can’t go swimming.
You can allow the water to lap over your feet, but attendees are NOT permitted to enter the water at any point during the event.
There are no after-hours surf lifesavers, and our security team are not permitted to enter the water to attempt a rescue.
Children are very welcome!
As per our booking terms and conditions, all children must be accompanied by an adult ticket holder at all times.
Our crew are event crew.
They are not babysitters.
Please don’t drop children off and leave them unattended.
Expect sand between your toes…
…or in your shoes!
Wear comfortable clothing and shoes because our DJs are going to get you dancing up a hot and sweaty storm.
Bring a jacket for when things cool down & it’s time to head home.
Toilets are located directly across the road in the park and within the SWELL Festival area of Wallace Nicoll Park.
Please leave your headset with event crew before crossing the road.
And don’t forget to watch out for vehicle traffic. 🚘🚌
SWELL Sculpture Festival is hugely popular and parking around Currumbin Beach is limited.
Please allow plenty of extra time and consider using public transport.
Parking options include Currumbin Alley, Palm Beach Parklands and nearby streets.
We do not offer discounts or refunds to anyone who is late or misses the event due to parking limitations.
Public transport is a great option if you’re able to use it.
There is a bus stop directly at our event location.

We’ve been bringing Silent Disco Under the Stars to SWELL for years.
And you’ve bloody loved it.
Previous events have sold out, with 400 people joining us in 2025 for two hours of dancing under the stars.
The official SWELL programme also lists Silent Disco Under the Stars as a capped event that has sold out each year.
So if you’ve been thinking:
“I’ll just grab tickets later.”
Maybe don’t.
Later has a habit of becoming sold out.
You’ll find us along the beachfront, across the road from Wallace Nicoll Park.
Head straight to the beach side, where you’ll find us ready and waiting to check everyone in!
