Lights Out And Dance proudly presents two signature events: Lights Out Under the Stars and Silent Disco Under the Stars! These events are perfect for adults looking for dance classes and activities on the Gold Coast, as well as family-friendly events that everyone can enjoy.
LIGHTS OUT UNDER THE STARS
Lights Out Under the Stars is a quarterly mid-week event along the waterfront by the Nerang River at HOTA. This event offers a fun and exhilarating way to break up the week with a unique, immersive dance experience. It’s an opportunity for our Lights Out tribe and the wider Gold Coast community to come together, switch off from busy lives, and enjoy an invigorating dance beneath the stars.
This event is a stripped-back version of our weekend pop-up event, Silent Disco Under the Stars (detailed below). There’s no DJ or fancy lighting – instead, we provide three carefully curated playlists for you to choose from, guaranteeing the best hour of your week!

SILENT DISCO UNDER THE STARS
Silent Disco Under the Stars is a community dancing event presented by Lights Out And Dance and Best Silent Disco. This is one of the Gold Coast’s favourite weekend dancing events, where the entire community – parents, grandparents, friends, and community groups – can come together and share the joy of dancing.
With some events seeing more than 200 people, Silent Disco Under the Stars is a testament to the power and joy of extraordinary nights of dancing magic. DJs deliver live playlists straight to your ears, and the dance floor is surrounded by glow cubes for an unforgettable experience.
Dancing on the lands of the Yugambeh peoples, we recognise and respect their continuing connections to the lands and waters, and we commit to caring for the country during all our events.

At both Lights Out Under the Stars and Silent Disco Under the Stars events, we provide headsets and three high-energy channels/playlists to choose from. If you don’t like a song, simply change the channel! Each channel has its own colour, so you’ll easily see who’s vibing to the same music as you.
For those unfamiliar with the silent disco concept, it’s a dance party where three music channels are transmitted to you via wireless headphones instead of speakers. This allows for a unique and intimate experience unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. Dancing under the stars and moon only adds to the magic, creating a serene atmosphere perfect for letting loose and dancing the hour away.
But it’s more than just a fun night out. Silent discos have been shown to reduce stress and anxiety, improve mental health, and increase creativity. By removing all external noise and distractions, you can fully immerse yourself in the music and the moment, allowing for a level of self-expression and creativity that’s hard to find in a traditional dance environment.
